BUYER Representation

Recently buyers have become aware that realtors have considerable knowledge that could be of great assistance in deciding what property to purchase. In many areas of the country buyer representation has become as prevalent as the traditional seller representation type of business. Edina Realty firmly believes that buyer representation is an important service and has provided it to its clients since 1986.

When a buyer is represented by a realtor, that realtors fiduciary duties are owed to the buyer and not the seller.  The realtor who represents the buyer has more freedom to discuss with the buyer such things as negotiating strategies and personal finances. The buyer can obtain factual information the realtor concerning the value of the property, the effect of improvements, and a variety of information which a seller’s realtor may not be able to provide.

A buyer’s realtor will make a commitment to make every reasonable effort to locate the property described by the buyer. This includes searching for homes that may be available for sale and for which acceptable compensation will be paid to the broker.
